New recipe review! This one was recommended to me by my sister, and was a HUGE dinner time success. My two kids enjoyed this so much that I've already made three different versions.
Egg Roll in a Bowl
2 teaspoons sesame oil
1 lb. ground pork or turkey
1 bag of shredded cabbage
1 cup shredded carrots
1 medium onion
1 tablespoon of minced garlic
1 teaspoon ground ginger/ginger powder
¼ cup Bragg’s Amino or Lite Soy Sauce
Salt and black pepper to taste
Chicken Broth (I think I used about 2 cups)
Optional: ¼ tsp red pepper flakes for some added zip
Brown the ground pork (or turkey) in large frying pan until fully cooked. Turn heat to medium-high and add chopped onion and sesame oil. In a small bowl, mix together the garlic, ginger and aminos and add to pan, and then immediately add the sliced cabbage and carrots. Add in chicken broth, stirring often, so all of the cabbage cooks down.
Serve warm and enjoy!
In other variations I've mixed in added veggies on hand (peas, corn, peppers), or served over brown rice. Kid approved!
