Happy New Year!! Welcome to 2015!!!
Did you make any resolutions? Maybe you want to start running again? Or save more money? Or spend more time with friends and less time on your phone?
January 1st seems to be the perfect time to make those declarations, especially when you are giddy with all of the potential and promise of the new year.
But you don't HAVE to use January 1st as your official date for a fresh start. Especially if you seem to be making the same resolutions year after year, but have yet to see them through.
Take a look back at last year and think about what you REALLY accomplished. Stick to the facts, not the stories we have of why something did or didn't work like we wanted. If you reached your goals - HIGH FIVES! Aim even higher this year and see what happens!
Now if you didn't reach your goals, this is the time to stop and think about what you need to do DIFFERENTLY this year to make your goals a reality. Maybe you wanted to start running, but you just didn't. Open your calendar and in the next two weeks schedule WHEN you are going to go out and run. (Or walk, or dance!) Whatever it is that you want to do, break it down and write out WHEN, WHERE and HOW you are going to take steps towards reaching those goals. When the two weeks are done, evaluate how you did, and map out the next two weeks.
Too many people make their resolutions like they make birthday wishes blowing out their candles. That is not how goals get accomplished.
So January 1st has come and gone. And it is NEVER too late for a fresh start. Think about what you want for yourself this year, and don't stop with making the wish - MAKE THE PLAN.
You got this!
You can live a healthy lifestyle in the real world without giving up everything that makes you happy.
