I'm so happy for the kids that school is finally out! They are thrilled. YEAH!! No more teachers, no more books...
The flip side of that coin of course is that they are here. With me. All day.
When they were smaller the summer was a time when things would slow down a bit, but now we have games and practices and they want to be driven here and there and have a social schedule of their own.
That part of summer can be a royal pain in the ass.
But I digress.
I've made a vow to not lose myself in the chaos of the summer. To NOT abandon my commitment to my health and self care for the sake of time saving convenience, but to up my game instead. 13 weeks is the perfect amount of time to see what I can accomplish with some extra effort.
I know that by taking the time I need to focus on planning and prepping healthy meals for me and the kids we all benefit. By being more active I will be getting fitter, and have more fun. And in 13 weeks time I hope to show that I've lost weight and solidified some sweet habits to carry me into the school year. Because we all know that transition is an ass-kicker.
So tell me, what are you going to do to make the most of your summer? The time is going to fly by, I can promise you that much.
You can live a healthy lifestyle in the real world without giving up everything that makes you happy.
