This past weekend in Denver, Elizabeth told us that USANA would be announcing some big news this week, and they did not disappoint.
I'm so thrilled to announce that my Product Partner USANA Health Sciences is now officially a Trusted Partner and sponsor of the Dr. Oz Show!
"For the Dr. Oz Show to call any company a Trusted Partner and Sponsor, it must meet certain criteria. Chief among them is integrity. We've done our research and found USANA to be an outstanding company. One that offers cutting-edge products that we here at the show would feel comfortable recommending to our wonderful audience," said Dr. Mehmet Oz.
"My relationship with USANA has grown into one of deep admiration and mutual respect. It is clear that USANA and I share a common vision to make a positive impact on the health of others. It's a natural relationship with the Dr. Oz Show," added Dr. Oz.
I'm not even sure where to start to tell you about the AMAZING weekend that I had in Denver. So here is a little bit of the backstory to frame just what a big deal this was for me.
This past Summer I decided that I wanted to partner with USANA Health Sciences and become a distributor for their Nutritional Supplements. They are hands down the highest quality supplements on the market, and it seemed to be a perfect fit with the Health Coaching that I've already been doing.
I joined the Enlightened Living team that is run by the incredible Elizabeth Rider, and this past weekend in Denver was devoted to the training of her team.
While I'd been talking to other team members since I joined, this would be the very first time that I'd meet any of them in person, and I was a little scared about going. Little did I know what was in store.
Friday morning I boarded a plane and flew out to Denver. I'd never been there before, and I was completely in awe of the scenery from the moment we were in view of this.
I headed to my hotel and checked in, still nervous about what I'd gotten myself into. Everyone was to meet in the lobby for the big group picture, and when I went downstairs I found myself in a room full of women, all of them laughing and talking. Looking at the group left me feeling like I was crashing a party.
I wish that I could say that I marched right up to the first pack of beautiful women in front of me and introduced myself, but that would be a big fat lie. Instead I was frozen, feeling very out of place.
Luckily for me, I was tapped on the shoulder and two lovely ladies introduced themselves to me. A simple act of kindness that I would see repeated in larger and larger versions of the the rest of the weekend.
There were 60 some women (and a few men too) there for the training. After the photos on Friday there was dinner and drinks and meeting so many new people. I went to bed exhausted, and really really happy that I'd made the trip.
Saturday we started early for a full day of work and it was incredible. The speakers, the information we covered, and the boundless energy and passion that this team radiates.
I am still struggling to put into words what this weekend did for me. From everything that I learned to the people that I was blessed to meet and spend time with.
I know that I am on the right path, and that I am moving towards the life that I want for myself. Yes, I may be moving in baby steps, but I am moving in the right direction.
My hopes and dreams for this year are becoming more and more clear. They say that you cannot grow if you do not allow yourself to be uncomfortable, and this weekend showed me how true that is.
I flew home on Sunday - my mind still trying to process everything that I learned. I think it's going to take me a while, and I know that it is going to make a huge difference in the next steps that I need to take!!
I've got big BIG hopes for 2015, and I am ready to put the work in to make it all happen. So that means making some plans, taking some action, and forcing myself outside of my comfort zone. (Easier said then done of course!)
But it starts this weekend. I'm all packed up and ready to hit the road for an intense weekend of Immersion Training. It's been a long time since I've been on a trip, let alone one by myself. I'm nervous and excited for sure.
I have a feeling I'm going to come back from this trip with even BIGGER ideas, and even more tools and motivation to turn them into realities.
And I cannot wait to see where this leads me next... :)
Happy New Year!! Welcome to 2015!!!
Did you make any resolutions? Maybe you want to start running again? Or save more money? Or spend more time with friends and less time on your phone?
January 1st seems to be the perfect time to make those declarations, especially when you are giddy with all of the potential and promise of the new year.
But you don't HAVE to use January 1st as your official date for a fresh start. Especially if you seem to be making the same resolutions year after year, but have yet to see them through.
Take a look back at last year and think about what you REALLY accomplished. Stick to the facts, not the stories we have of why something did or didn't work like we wanted. If you reached your goals - HIGH FIVES! Aim even higher this year and see what happens!
Now if you didn't reach your goals, this is the time to stop and think about what you need to do DIFFERENTLY this year to make your goals a reality. Maybe you wanted to start running, but you just didn't. Open your calendar and in the next two weeks schedule WHEN you are going to go out and run. (Or walk, or dance!) Whatever it is that you want to do, break it down and write out WHEN, WHERE and HOW you are going to take steps towards reaching those goals. When the two weeks are done, evaluate how you did, and map out the next two weeks.
Too many people make their resolutions like they make birthday wishes blowing out their candles. That is not how goals get accomplished.
So January 1st has come and gone. And it is NEVER too late for a fresh start. Think about what you want for yourself this year, and don't stop with making the wish - MAKE THE PLAN.
You got this!
You can live a healthy lifestyle in the real world without giving up everything that makes you happy.
